JCI Vientiane Officially Established Under Lao MSME Association

On 18 November 2025, the founding board of JCI Vientiane approved Resolution No. 01‑2025JCIVT, formally establishing JCI Vientiane as a Local Organization Member (LOM) of Junior Chamber International with its own Constitution and By‑Laws. This resolution also authorizes the President and Secretary General to implement governance, maintain official records, and carry out any required filings with JCI partners and relevant authorities.

Following this internal milestone, JCI Vientiane moved to formalize its external partnership framework. On 25 November 2025, a meeting was requested with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Association of Lao PDR (Lao MSME Association) to confirm that JCI Vientiane would operate under its umbrella until the establishment of JCI Laos as a National Organization. The agenda covered operational alignment, governance and reporting structure, and the setup of a dedicated bank account for JCI Vientiane under the Lao MSME Association with clear financial policies and accountability measures.

This collaboration positions JCI Vientiane as a platform for young active citizens to work closely with MSMEs and community partners in four key opportunity areas: business & entrepreneurship, individual development, international cooperation, and community impact. Through this framework, JCI Vientiane will be able to initiate capacity‑building programs, create networking opportunities between local and international partners, and design community projects that respond to local needs in Vientiane and beyond.

The founding board—led by Founding President Sounay Phothisane, together with Executive Vice Presidents Le Va and Phonepaseuth Keodouangchit, Secretary General Latdavanh Keodala, and Treasurer Khamphaxay Vongaphay—has also agreed on an initial meeting schedule and membership framework. General Meetings will be held monthly, with the Annual General Meeting scheduled for the last Friday of September each year, and membership dues and arrears policies have been defined to ensure sustainability and accountability.

Looking ahead, JCI Vientiane is preparing for its chartering and inauguration ceremony, targeted for mid‑January 2026 at Amari Hotel in Vientiane, which will include official signing, keynote remarks, networking, and media engagement. This event will mark the public introduction of JCI Vientiane and open opportunities for partners, young professionals, and MSMEs to join and collaborate with this newly established Local Organization Member in Lao PDR.
