A Historic Step Toward JCI Laos: Signing of MoU in Ulaanbaatar

On June 12, 2025, a significant milestone was achieved for the future of Junior Chamber International (JCI) in Laos. During the JCI Asia-Pacific Conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between:

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Association of Lao PDR (Lao MSME Association)
Junior Chamber International Asia Pacific Development Council (JCI APDC) 2024–2025 Team Laos

This partnership marks the beginning of a collaborative journey to empower young leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in Laos.

The MoU signifies a shared commitment to:

Promote growth and competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Laos.
Foster entrepreneurship and leadership development among young people.
Enhance international cooperation through structured programs and institutional development.

With JCI’s global network of over 160,000 members in 100+ countries, this collaboration opens doors for Lao youth to connect internationally, gain skills, and create sustainable impact in their communities.
This agreement is a foundational step toward establishing JCI Vientiane, the first local chapter in Laos. Our ultimate goal is to form JCI Laos as a national organization, which requires at least two active chapters. Through this partnership, we aim to focus on four key areas of opportunity:

  • Business and Entrepreneurship
  • International Cooperation
  • Individual Development
  • Community Impact
  • The official launch of JCI Vientiane will be celebrated soon with a Chartering Ceremony, marking the beginning of a new era for young leaders in Laos. This is more than an event—it’s a movement to create positive change and connect Laos to the global JCI family.
  • Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming inauguration and how you can be part of this exciting journey!
